Pre-Clinical NeuroChemistry

In vivo microdialysis and HPLC-EC separation of monoamine neurotransmitters is performed in the awake behaving rodent to determine neurochemical markers/pattern of transmitter release following pharmacological or environmental manipulations. Animals are housed in sound attenuated chambers to increase compound effect detection. Compounds can be given by a number of routes including: IP, SC, Oral, ICV. Deliverables from these studies include:
  • Monoamine Level Quantification
    • Norepinephrine (NE)
    • Dopamine (DA)
    • Serotonin (5-HT)
    • Monoamine Metabolites (DOPAC, HVA, etc.)
  • Dialysis Regions
    • Nucleus Accumbens
    • Prefrontal Cortex
    • Hippocampus
    • Thalamus
    • Custom anatomical region placements available
